Dr. Onur Cavus
Dr. Onur Cavus is the founder and clinical director of Innova Dental.
He relocated to Toronto in 2021, completed the NDEB equivalency process and has been licensed with the RCDSO as a general dentist in Ontario since 2022. He holds RCDSO certification to administer moderate conscious IV sedation — a certification held by a limited number of general dentists in Ontario.
Dr. Cavus completed his Bachelor of Dental Surgery at Marmara University Faculty of Dentistry in Istanbul in 2005, then remained at Marmara University for a full-time academic residency in the Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery Department from 2005 to 2011 — receiving intensive supervised training in implantology, bone and soft-tissue reconstruction, and advanced oral surgery.
At the conclusion of his residency, Dr. Cavus was awarded a graduate clinical degree in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery — the Turkish university-based equivalent of specialist surgical training, conferred through the Faculty of Dentistry. He also holds a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Oral Surgery from Marmara University, awarded at the conclusion of his residency.
From 2011 to 2019, Dr. Cavus owned and operated a private dental clinic in Istanbul's Caddebostan district. During this period he was also active as a clinician-educator — delivering hands-on training courses in autogenous bone grafting, speaking at professional dental meetings, and lecturing at a Nobel Biocare Academy symposium. Throughout his career in Turkey, until 2021, he practiced in dental clinics and hospitals as a visiting implantologist.
At Innova Dental, Dr. Cavus leads the clinical team and maintains an active practice across general dentistry, implant dentistry, oral surgery, full-arch rehabilitation, and IV sedation.
Dr. Cavus believes that balance and perspective make a better clinician. Outside the clinic, he enjoys time with his family — he's an avid road cyclist, a reader with a particular interest in history and science fiction, and a dedicated chauffeur for his competitive swimmer son.

Innova Dental is a general dental practice — and that means doing general dentistry properly. Thorough examinations, unhurried appointments, and continuity of care with a team that knows you over time.
For patients who need more — implant placement, full-arch rehabilitation, bone grafting, oral surgery, or treatment under IV sedation — those services are available in-house. There is no change of practice, no need to establish a clinical relationship from scratch with someone new.
The environment is deliberately calm. Appointments are scheduled with enough time to do the work thoroughly. Patients with dental anxiety are supported with sedation options ranging from nitrous oxide to RCDSO-authorised IV sedation.

Yes. Dr. Onur Cavus holds RCDSO certification to administer moderate conscious IV sedation — a certification held by a limited number of general dentists in Ontario. IV sedation is available for both surgical and general dental procedures where it is clinically appropriate, and is administered and monitored by Dr. Cavus directly.
